The Husband - Part X

Within couple of weeks, Caitlin was release from the hospital,

she was surprised to find her living room messed up –

whoever it was, searched her drawers,

looking for something important.

But there weren’t any money to be found,

because she had put them all in her bank account.

“Stay here, I’ll be right back” Chris said.

“Where are you going?” she asked, even though she was scared and weak,

she didn’t want to show it, but her voice was quivering.

He took his revolver and went around the house,

taking caution and entering in each room, he found

the place was disturbed but whoever it was, was gone.

Chris double check the place, making sure they were safe.

Relief to be back at home, and yet, not completely protected,

she was anxious, she couldn’t think.

Life can change in a heartbeat. How can she live in peace?

she couldn’t believe, whoever it was… wanted something. What could it be?

She was kind and thoughtful, always considered of others.

She doesn’t have enemies, as she knows of.

Maybe one? No, she has none.

Suddenly, she felt exhausted. Her hair was in a wild blonde tangle.

Her eyes were too large, too dark;

there was nothing worse than feeling completely alone –

in a huge mansion so cold.

She misses her husband Bryan, her l’amour, her deep desire.

Chris came back to the living room and saw Caitlin waiting for some kind of news.

Without emotion, he said while talking on the cell phone: “Whoever it was is gone.”

“Daniel? Can you hear me? I need you to send investigators to Mrs. Caitlin Moore’s house, right away. Her house was disturbed so I need them to check for finger prints. Thanks, I’ll wait for them.”

“So what should we do?” Caitlin asked, she was shaking and breathing hard; she couldn’t barely speak. Poor soul, if she only could change everything.
