I am Jesus your Savior

That day young Akim woke up very early, heading, remained seated, and then squatting on a rock near the well. He thought a lot about his friend all the time, and his biggest dream was to protect his friend's person. Without delay, Akim's mother called him to breakfast. Akim replied that he didn't accept the coffee, he just wanted to know news about his new friend named Jesus of Nazareth.

His mother advised saying:

-Come Akim. Maybe later you will have news. He's too busy with a crowd that's after the Nazarene.

-Mother! Why is the weather so different? Cloudy with sad weather in the skies? Because?

-Yes, it's different, it looks like it's going to rain.

-Mother! I woke up feeling a big sadness in my chest and I don't know what it is. But, I will gather the best men of knife, bow and arrow. I'm going to do it now. I'm not going to stay here waiting for news.

His mother, sympathetic to Akim's decision, replied:

-Don't go Akim. Let the news arrive.

-No. I go to all the places where the master walked. I am going right now to Kaná of Galilee and other villages, where various tribes live. You know very well that my friend didn't like it at all when I told the truth. I told my Nazarene friend that I was with God's messenger John the Baptist and was arrested in the Judean desert by order of Governor Herod. He didn't like it, lowering his head.

Completed Akim.

-The messenger of God spoke the truth. For no one would have the courage to say what John the Baptist said to everyone about the king's infidelity with Herod Philip's wife, a great betrayal. Roman guards took John the Baptist as a prisoner to Herod's fortress in Jordan's Machero gorge. Before Passover the king had a big party for his birthday, and invited his stepdaughter Salome to dance. The king was delighted with the dance and asked her what she wanted as a reward, having rejected half the reign and talked to her mother Herodias. Said Akim, even more:

- John said, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife" (Mark 6:19). I told the master everything. All that Herodias had in hatred for John the Baptist because of adultery and incest. Well, Salome knowing her mother's wishes and talking to her. Salome in front of the guests asked Herod Antipas for the head of John the Baptist on a plate as her prize (Mark 6:25). This was awful, Mom.

Akim further said:

-You know, when I told this to the Nazarene, he asked that he wanted to be alone, and he left soon to take a boat and crossed the Sea of Galilee. A large crowd followed him overland, because many people were aware of his presence there. Mom, when he touched my shoulder, I felt his sad eyes and tears falling down his face.

Akim's mother says the following:

-Don't go my son. It is very dangerous to walk in the desert. Do not go. I only have you with me. You are my only family man. Don't go, wait for news.

Akm said:

-Mother! I'm going after the man who fed us and millions of people in the middle of the desert. I'm his mother, but that man needs help ASAP. If I and the other fighters climbed the fortified hill of Maquero to bring back the headless body of John the Baptist. Who will make us afraid in the desert?

Akim prepared his food, arrow and bows, put on his sandals and set out across the hot sands of the desert. Before nightfall, he arrived at the hamlet of Bethsaida, on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, being graced by many youths of his day whose youths went to retrieve the body of John the Baptist.

Akim spoke and humbly asked his friends and fighting brothers:

-Companions! Praise be to our great God and savior! I need strong men with me. I want to know news of Jesus of Nazareth. The son of God who fed and healed you all that day, and gave thanks to our father.

The chief of the tribe said.

-Akim, we have three good men here and willing to fight you to the death. We have Benil, Ajan and Quimel.

The Nazarene didn't leave any news and I haven't seen the prophet Peter for days.

- I accept with all my heart. With them we will now go to Bethlehem, then to Capernaum, Jericho, the village of Emmaus, Bethany, Caesarea Philippi, the village of Magdala, Nazareth in Judea and Jerusalem.

One lady said:

-It's dangerous to travel at this time of night.

Akim replied:

-It's dangerous not to travel. We'll meet and if we don't hear from the master. We will end Jerusalem.

You will all know. And they went out to Capernaum, and there they found another man named Nathan. Akim challenges his fighters:

-Don't you want to rest and eat a little?

A fighter by the name of Quiril responded.

-No. Our goal is to find the Nazarene master as quickly as possible. During the trip we will eat.

Said a lady, holding a child.

-I find it difficult to find the master, he walked around here last week. He helped many people, cured my father of his eyesight and performed hundreds of miracles.

Akim said:

-Sooner or later we will find our Nazarene master.

-Don't go, it's going to rain a lot.

They set out on the hot sands of the desert on foot, and suddenly, Akim's men spotted a man walking on the warm sands of the desert. As they surrounded the man, he spoke.

-Don't kill me, please! I only have my life and nothing else. Akim immediately asked:

-And these clothes all covered in blood? Who did you kill to run away like that?

The man replied:

-I didn't kill anyone, gentlemen. Those blood marks on my clothes aren't mine. Yesterday, as I was arriving in the city of Jerusalem, the soldiers forced me to carry the fallen man's cross. Roman soldiers with swords forced me.

Akim asks:

-And why did they force you?

The man's name was Simon of Cyrene, and he replied thus:

- More than three weeks ago, I left my city of Cyrene, current Shahat, in North Africa, in Libya, to go to this great Easter feast in Jerusalem. This I do annually, as a Jew. As I approached the city, I saw a large crowd carrying a man carrying a cross. I hurried to see who that man was. Know the reason for his crucifixion. That's how the guards forced me. But, I don't know who it was. Nobody told me anything.

Akim asks again:

-And how did you soil these clothes with blood?

-I didn't get dirty. I was forced by the Roman guards to lift the cross from the ground and carry it to Golgotha. And the man was on the floor with that heavy wooden cross, he had no more strength. The guards saw me and ordered me to carry the cross. Sir! That man had a polished, simple face, blue eyes, he was a very handsome young man with his long hair hanging in his face. I don't know what harm he did to get like that, all hurt. His body all bloody, every moment they beat and spat at the man.

Simon Cyrene completes:

-Sir! Talking serious. I looked very closely at that man and saw no evil in him. My other outfit, I threw it away and put on the white Easter outfit.

Without delay, Akim asks the brothers.

-What do you think of this man's story?

One of them spoke.

-It seems to be true.

The day before yesterday was the Passover feast in Jerusalem. Simon Cyrene replied.

-There was no Easter party, and I am returning to my home in Libya.

Simon Cyrene continued his journey, and Akim's men asked:

-What do we do now, Akim?

-Let's move on to Jerusalem. Let's find out the truth. In case we don't find our Nazarene. Let's turn Jerusalem upside down. We will not accept any answer, our father is just one.

When they arrived in Jerusalem, Akim found a lady crying on a sidewalk in the street.

-Hey! Lady. Why is she crying?

-The Roman guards killed my master. My only lord! They killed cruelly and without mercy, made him carry a cross that was not his. It was the most cowardly death I have ever seen. Here in Jerusalem he has no friends, everyone spits on him, throws stones, jokes and everything that is no good. Walking along this narrow, cobbled street, he fell several times.

Akim asks with great curiosity:

-Who is your master?

The woman answers

-It's Jesus the Nazarene.

-I can't believe they did this to our master. Not. Is not true.

- My only lord! They judged like a thief, an evildoer, and the people down there chose, the Nazarene in place of the thief to be released, that Barabbas. They did everything hidden from the people. No one knew about this last-minute trial. That's why there was no Easter.

At that moment Akim screamed several times without mercy. And moaning on the ground he said in a loud voice:

-Lord, why did you let all this happen? My master and my lord, I will avenge his name, I will set the whole city of Jerusalem on fire, now, now. I don't care what happens to me.

Also said:

-If I knew that, I would bring more than ten thousand men to fight in your name. All tribes would defend you. I am guilty of this, my lord!

At that moment, Jesus, the only son of God, appeared with three angels, and said to Akim.

-Get up Akim. Here is your lord and your friend. You go home with the archers. Don't touch me I haven't risen to my father yet. Everything that Simão Cirenaeus said is true. You do not do justice in my name. I'll be with you all, preach it everywhere. go home all.

And from there, the Lord God came out. Akim with a sad face and his men headed back to their tribes. When Simão Cirenaeus arrived at his home in North Africa, his wife asked.

-What clothes are all stained with blood, my husband?

His son Alexander also spoke.

-Is weird. What happened my father? Where's the Easter outfit? Where is it?

-In the city of Jerusalem, the guards saw me arrive, and they ordered me to help carry the cross of the condemned man. I was already dressed in the only white outfit I have new. Son, this man's look was beautiful and his hair too, he had clean skin. He looked at me several times with nothing to say. I don't know why he died and what his crime was. Only, I know it was a cruel death.

-Dad, the man they killed on the cross was Jesus, son of Mary. Yes, the son of the carpenter of Nazareth. What cruelty? I heard here in Cyrene about the crucifixion. That's why there was no Easter. And your bloody garment is the blood of Our Savior. Our only God? Serious. The Passover blood is on his garment, the blood of the Lamb of God.

Amen,
