Brazil

Even though I’m traveling through a congested city,

I couldn’t help asking myself: why did I leave?

Even though most of the cities are overpopulated,

the hospitality is overwhelming.

Even though the pollution is poisoning my lungs,

I can’t help to hear the rhythm on the street: look at them sing!

Even though most of the people are in poverty,

listen to them laughing is contagious.

Even though the lack of jobs could be discouraging,

I couldn’t help admiring the beautiful surroundings.

Even though public transportation could be depressing,

eating Brazilian food brings me back wonderful memories.

One thing is for sure, I’ll be back – back for more.
