After the dawn
Yawns slide soundly,
Half-open eyes...
harmonious morning in outcome,
sun traces invading the blind,
strong arms and breakfast in bed,
“I love you” dictates in secret,
love framed by eternal vows,
vows of a larger love.
He leaves,
and a heart is left.
Watering certainties of the re-encounter,
she carries the hours over her shoulders,
counting every minute...
waiting every second.
And at the end of that torrid afternoon
she renews her longings,
and he is finally made present,
bringing an innocent smile,
reinventing the love,
somehow unknown before.
And when the dusk falls,
all the stars appear scintillant,
and already between his arms,
she feels only and protected,
loving and being loved,
as she never would imagined before.
