Dad

You don’t know me yet

But I love you

And you’ll love me very soon

You’ll have my hair

You are going to hear my stories

and grow wiser than I

I’m a simple person, son

My parents were poor

And I liked to play football

And my dad could barely read

And my mom spent her life

Cleaning the house and making dinner

I don’t fear the death

And I know what family means

And I learned what life's about

And I learned to love science rather than God

And I learned man can be very fragile

And I learned to ride horses and bikes

You don’t know me yet

But I’ll teach you all these things

And I’ll learn from you

that you can have your dreams

You can love another man

You can tell me things

When you learn to speak

I will hear you

And I'll let you find yourself

You don’t know me yet

But I love you

And you’ll love me forever
