Patriarchalism marks in the play The Cordelia Dream, by Marina Carr

Sinopse
The play The Cordelia Dream was written by Irish playwright Marina Carr in 2008. The author was inspired by the characters Cordelia and King Lear from the play The King Lear, by the famous playwright William Shakespeare. The Cordelia Dream takes place in a room with a piano and its characters are just a man and a woman, who are father and daughter. They do not have a good relationship, as the man holds a great grudge against his daughter, for the fact that she has become a more renowned pianist than he ever was, leaving in the play a great imprint of patriarchy. In this sense, marks of jealousy, pride and ego of the male character are evident.
